Surgical oncologist Donald A. McCain, M.D., Ph.D., specializes in the surgical treatment of cancers of the gastrointestinal system, including cancer of the pancreas, stomach, colon, liver, gall bladder, and small intestine. He is highly skilled in using a variety of state-of-the-art surgical techniques to treat cancer, including minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and radiofrequency ablation. He is also actively involved in clinical trials to evaluate surgical techniques, including sentinel lymph node mapping and radiofrequency ablation. Dr. McCain's research on gastrointestinal cancers has appeared in a number of publications. He is a cancer liaison for and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
